My XP computer had the same problem, and I found that the CMOS settings called for a daily start-up. Then a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, ESET Online Scanner, Emsisoft Emergency Kit, Kaspersky TDSSKiller and Bitdefender rescue disc. What should I do now?? I hope something here helps you.

You haven't done a number of the things mentioned in the previous replies.. It used to restart on its own and make clicking noises. Windows 7 users may want to consider repairing Windows 7. Remember, after the repair, you have to reactivate your os.
